Wordpress 3.0 and MU

So I figured since Wordpress 3.0 will now include the multi user system, I will try my hand at a blog network. I have a new auto repair FAQ site which would work well as a multi user blog network. The plan is to get experts for each vehicle to field questions and post unique content in exchange for a cut of the action. An example would be the Mustang FAQ network site I built yesterday.

On a side note, my site www.Garagereports.com is going well and has gotten a lot of auto repair shop reviews to date. I need to start promoting and hopefully it will turn into a real useful site for my visitors looking to find a quality auto repair shop.

Am I a coffee snob?

I recently went to a local coffee roaster and bought some fresh roasted coffee and a french press. I have always heard that it’s the best way to brew your java, but I just never tried it.

I have to admit, it was a great cup of coffee and not once over the weekend did I have to use cream or sugar to cover up a bitter brew. I can honestly say that I will never go back to a regular coffee maker for my morning cup. At work or family gatherings it’s not worth the trouble of using the french press so I guess I will have to live with a traditional brewing method then. I guess that’s my answer to my original question, I am not a coffee snob… I appreciate the finer method of brewing but am willing to make compromises to not piss other people off waiting for a cup of coffee.

Why do so many people distrust their mechanic? Because they should !!! There are way to many shady auto repair shops out there. I have been attempting to educate people for years about auto repair and finally build a website where people can leave auto repair shop reviews from the comfort of their sofa or desk. GarageReports.com is a domain I have owned for quite some time, and it’s about time I do something with it. What better way than to help people rate and review their auto repair shop and possibly help a neighbor from making a costly mistake?

My auto repair site has been around for over 10 years, and it’s time for a face lift. The goal will be to improve navigation, page views per visit, and ultimately grow daily visitors. To get a good sense of the new site, check out the engines page for a peek at the new layout. I have also added advice on motorcycle ownership to the site. Future plans are to build out the car blog to include more Q&A plus maybe even some how-to videos.

As most of you know, I am a motorhead and have had way to many vehicles in my past ! I typically use my insurance provider that I have my daily drivers insured with. ( State Farm ) But… for the best protection you need agreed coverage where you and the insurance company agree on a replacement value of your vehicle and if something happens to total your street rod, classic car or antique vehicle… you get that amount paid out by the insurance company.

They great thing is that these policies are generally cheaper than your daily driven car since the mileage is usually lower per year and the vehicle is typically garage kept. Expect to pay between $100 and $500 per year depending on replacement value agreed upon.
